Women’s Bible Study

Women’s Bible Study

Heritage women, we invite you to join your sisters for our fall Bible study through the book of Habakkuk. Though only three chapters long, this Old Testament book overflows with plagues, violence, and pleas for deliverance. Why does God ever allow evil to flourish? That’s what Habakkuk seeks to understand, and as he waits for the Lord, he discovers that God is faithful to deliver his people from every trouble in his own way and time. During this 10-week study, starting on Tuesday, September 10, we will use Lydia Brownback’s study guide Habakkuk, Learning to Live By Faith.

There are two study times available—Tuesday mornings at 9:15 and Tuesday evenings at 7:00. Childcare through age 5 will be available for the morning study only. Registration for the study is taking place in the South Lobby on Sundays, August 25, September 1, and September 8, or you may sign up online. Please note that if you sign up online, you must stop by the table in the South Lobby to pick up your study materials prior to the first study on September 10. The cost is $12 which includes the study guide and ESV Scripture journal. This study is open to women and young women middle school age and up.

We look forward to growing in faith together and hope that you will join us!

During our evening together, we will have the privilege to hear from a long-time member and mission partner, Brooke Illsley. Brooke serves with Jeremy and Bonnie Ruth Farmer in Cambodia. She assists the family with the homeschooling of their children as well as ministering to the community in which they serve. You will be encouraged to hear her testimony and what God is doing in her life! You are welcome to invite guests as well as your school-aged daughters.

Following the service, we’ll move down the hill near the picnic shelter for a church picnic. Heritage is providing subs, chips, cookies, and drinks at no cost to you. In order to help us plan, please let us know if you will eat with us. Sign up by noon on Tuesday, May 28.

Elder Reaffirmation: June, 2024

As part of our Family Meeting on Sunday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m., Members will be asked to reaffirm Harry Clement for another two-year term of service as an elder.

Harry Clement

Testimony:

I was not raised in a Christian home.  I heard the gospel for the first time in high school but was not interested at that time. At the age of 19, after my first year of college, I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior and was baptized six months later. While going through significant difficulties in my life, Jesus became more and more precious to me. His Word was my comfort and guided my path. I am continuing to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.

My wife Vicki and I have been married for 23 years and share five children and eight grandchildren. We have been members of Heritage Bible Church for almost 20 years.  I am a retired business owner of Clement Custom Doors and now work for my sons.

Getty Kids Club with Kristyn Getty

As part of our day with the Gettys on Friday, October 18, Kristyn Getty will host a Kids Club in The Cave from 11:00-11:45 AM. Join Kristyn for an interactive time to encourage families, teach children about the importance of singing their faith in daily life, and a visit from Getty Band members for a musical show-and-tell! This event is open to ALL young people and the young at heart, but is designed to be enjoyed especially by 4-12 year olds. There is no charge for the event, but we do need for you to sign up to attend because space is limited. We recognize that this is a school day, but we hope as many children as possible will participate. This event is open to Heritage families and your friends from the community.
