Men’s Study
Technology pervades our world and our lives. We can hardly live a day without engaging it in some form. While advances in this field benefit us tremendously, technology also brings great challenges and even danger. How should Christ’s followers navigate these difficulties? How should we, as men, lead ourselves and our families through this minefield? Join fellow brothers for our winter topical study through Andy Crouch’s book, The Tech-wise Family. Crouch provides biblical principles and warnings for us to consider as we engage with technology and as we shepherd our families who do so.
Our men’s study will meet in The Cave on Thursdays at 6:15 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. from February 2 through March 9. Sign up online, purchase your own book, and bring it with you to the first study. Books are available through Amazon, ChristianBook, Baker Book House, and other online retailers.
Women’s Bible Study Winter 2023
Ladies, we hope you will join us for our winter Bible study in the book of Psalms. Over the course of 9 weeks, we will study several Psalms that will teach us more about God, ourselves, and how we relate to Him in many of life’s varied circumstances. Through this study we will be better equipped to communicate with God through prayers of both praise and lament, joy and sorrow.
Our study will begin on January 31, and sign up will begin Sunday, January 15, in the South Lobby. The cost of the study notebook that will be available at the registration table is $5. We offer two study times—Tuesday mornings at 9:15 and Tuesday evenings at 7:00. Childcare through age 5 is available during the morning study only. This study is open to ladies and young ladies middle school age and up. We hope you will join us!
Christmas at Halcyon
For a number of years we’ve reached out to our neighbors at Halcyon Apartments in a variety of ways. Through Family Fun Days, car washes, and personal acts of kindness, we’ve been building bridges for the Gospel. Sunday, December 18, we will celebrate Christmas with them. Join us at 5:00 p.m. on the green next to the Halcyon clubhouse for a carol sing, doughnuts, and hot chocolate. We invite Shepherding Groups to use this as an opportunity to reach out together. Come, mingle, make a new friend, and sing of Jesus as we love our neighbors and share the Good News of Christ with them.
Women’s Christmas Brunch 2022
Ladies, please make your plans to join us for our annual Women’s Christmas Brunch on Saturday, December 3, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will enjoy a delicious brunch prepared by Peter Selby, followed by a talk from one of our elders’ wives, Anna Hilgeman. Anna has been teaching and discipling women in the local church context for many years, and we’re excited for you to hear from her this year.
At this point, all seats are taken for the Brunch. Please email Lisa Hansen if you would like to be added to the waiting list. Cost is $10 per person. We are looking forward to a beautiful morning of food, fellowship, and encouragement as we head into the Christmas season!
