Men’s Breakfast 2021

Men’s Breakfast 2021

This year marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11, a day which is fixed in many minds. We are glad to welcome a special speaker, Steve Scheibner, for our Fall Men’s Breakfast. Steve is an airline pilot who was supposed to fly one of the planes which crashed on 9/11; however, his seat was taken last-minute by another man.

Saturday, September 18, men of all ages are invited to the Greenville Downtown Airport where we will have breakfast and hear this incredible story. Our men’s breakfast is an annual outreach which we gear toward unbelieving coworkers, neighbors, and friends; but this year’s breakfast will be especially powerful. Make plans to come and invite that guy you’ve been thinking and praying about.

A suggested donation of $3/person will be collected from our men at the breakfast. There is no charge for invited guests.

Please sign up below, then join us on September 18 at 10 Opportunity Place, Greenville, SC 29607.

Women’s Bible Study – Fall 2021

Women’s Bible Study – Fall 2021

Do you ever feel that God is hidden from you? Do you look around at your circumstances and wonder if God will keep his promises to you—promises to keep you, guard you, deliver you? The Jewish exiles in the days of Queen Esther undoubtedly had some of these thoughts and feelings as they lived under the reign of a godless king in a pagan empire and faced annihilation from the descendant of an ancient enemy. Where was God, and how could he possibly fulfill his covenant promises in these circumstances? Would he even want to honor his covenant given the sins of His people?

Come study the book of Esther with us to gaze in awe at the God that is never mentioned and to marvel at his providence, faithfulness, and deliverance in the midst of overwhelming pain and fear. We will be using Esther: The Hidden Hand of God by Lydia Brownback as well as some supplemental materials put together by the HBC teaching team. You will come away from this study with a greater confidence and assurance that God reigns in this world and that no enemy can stand against him!

For this fall session of Women’s Bible Study we will meet at Heritage each Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. or Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m., September 14-November 16. Childcare for infants through preschoolers is available for the morning session only. Each week will include small group discussions as well as a large group instruction time.

Sign up and pick up your materials in the South Lobby at Heritage on Sundays, August 29, September 5, or September 12. The cost for this study is $10.

Gospel-Saturated Living Seminar

Gospel-Saturated Living Seminar

This one-day seminar that will examine from 30,000 ft. the theme of gospel-saturated living as found in John’s first letter. One of John’s major concerns is that Christians daily live with gospel assurance. This is because one of Satan’s primary aims is to destroy the assurance of believers. If he can do that, then we will be of no use. So, John addresses this concern by getting crystal clear on who Jesus is and what he’s accomplished on our behalf. Only the gospel enables us to withstand all attacks upon our Christian assurance.

For parents of college or high school students, this one-day seminar will help equip you to better disciple your students as they study 1 John in L3inC and Impact this school year. Also, all parents (and hope-to-be parents) are encouraged to come regardless of the age of your children. For those of you who are single, this seminar will deepen your understanding of the gospel and how it works itself out within an antagonistic world.

All who attend will leave with practical and actionable strategies for living gospel-saturated lives in complex social settings.

In addition, we are excited to share a meal together following the meeting! This month’s meal will be provided by HBC and will include teriyaki chicken, rice, green beans, rolls, and dessert. These times of fellowship around the table have been special in the past, and we are eager to resume them on July 25.
