Sulfur and Fire from the Lord

Genesis 18:16-19:38

About the Sermon

Some places are remembered for their contribution to the world. Ancient Rome would be an example. Sodom and Gomorrah are infamous for their demise. The tale is sobering, and yet more bearable than the judgment promised by Jesus in the days to come (Matt. 10:15). Thankfully, there is good news here greater than this judgment.

About the Series

Why did God make the world? Why did he make you and me? What went wrong with us and how bad is it, really? Crucially, is there any hope for us? In the story of Genesis, the Bible’s first book, we discover bad news, and yet so much good news. The God who made us is determined to bless us. His purpose to bless humanity will be channeled through his promise to Abraham and his family. The book of Genesis is the beginning of the Scripture and it is the beginning of our story.
