Genesis 43

About the Sermon

With this sermon we’re back in the book of Genesis, picking up where we left off with Genesis 43. From here through chapter 45 we will follow Joseph’s brothers back and forth between Canaan and Egypt. Joseph won’t reveal himself for a few chapters yet. In the meantime, we find strained and at times confusing interactions between the brothers and Joseph. What is Joseph’s design in all of this? What is God doing in the lives of these brothers?

About the Series

Why did God make the world? Why did he make you and me? What went wrong with us and how bad is it, really? Crucially, is there any hope for us? In the story of Genesis, the Bible’s first book, we discover bad news, and yet so much good news. The God who made us is determined to bless us. His purpose to bless humanity will be channeled through his promise to Abraham and his family. The book of Genesis is the beginning of the Scripture and it is the beginning of our story.
