Her Name Was Tamar

Genesis 38

About the Sermon

Can the hardest hearts be changed? We’ll get an answer to that question from an unlikely passage, Genesis 38. This is the most sexually explicit passage in the book of Genesis. It’s also one of the darkest passages. But there is encouragement here for God’s work in our lives, and in our church.

About the Series

Why did God make the world? Why did he make you and me? What went wrong with us and how bad is it, really? Crucially, is there any hope for us? In the story of Genesis, the Bible’s first book, we discover bad news, and yet so much good news. The God who made us is determined to bless us. His purpose to bless humanity will be channeled through his promise to Abraham and his family. The book of Genesis is the beginning of the Scripture and it is the beginning of our story.
