The Church at Antioch

Acts 13:1-3, 14:19-28

About the Sermon

What is a missionary? Isn’t everyone a missionary? How are missionaries made? Who sends missionaries? With this sermon we continue our short series, Going Global: Following Jesus to the End of the Earth. We will be in Acts 13–14 where we will get some answers to these questions.

About the Series

The book of Acts of the story of Jesus’ continuing work in the world by his Spirit. This is how the Spirit decided to show us what the mission looks like. It sets the trajectory for the church theologically and geographically. In this short series we explore four texts to answer four questions about the church’s global mission: where are we to go? What is our message? Who is involved in this work? Why would we risk all for this cause? In this way, this series will add clarity and specificity to our church’s mission statement, “to spread the unsearchable riches of Christ broader in the world and deeper in the church.”
