Born of Woman

Galatians 4:4

About the Sermon

What’s so special about being born of a woman? Aren’t we all? Yes, and that’s Paul’s point when he wrote in Galatians 4:4, “God sent forth his Son, born of woman.” But what about Mary? Does this passage teach the virgin birth? And why does the incarnation of the eternal Son set Christianity apart from every other system of thought and religion?

About the Series

It’s easy to feel forgotten during the holidays. But God does not forget his people. “When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son” (Galatians 4:4–5). Christ came at just the right time and in just the right way—fully human, fully God, fully obedient even to the point of death. He is a perfect deliverer for sinners like us. In this four-part series we walk through each phrase in Galatians 4:4–5, a pregnant line of Scripture, to open to the Bible’s story, the mystery of Christ’s coming, and what it means for us.
