Into Our True and Final Home

The story of the Bible tells us the true story of our world. It’s the story of God’s unfolding plan to bring his people out of their exile from his presence and into the joy of his everlasting presence. In this sermon we bring our series, Out of Our Lonely Exile, to a close and turn our attention to our true and final home. Listen in as guest preacher Drew Hunter brings the word.

Nothing Less Than a New Birth

There is a general sense that people think they know what Christianity is about—but they actually don’t realize that this is at the heart of it. Many in our culture have rejected Christianity, but they haven’t actually rejected the real thing. The Christianity that many Americans are rejecting today the Bible would reject, too. For many, the God of the Bible is capricious and aloof—“if we pay our taxes in good works, he’ll accept us.” But the God of the Bible—the real God, the Father, Son, and Spirit—is infinitely more gracious and loving than we might think. And Ephesians 2:1-7 is here to convince us that this is true.
