Good Friday & Easter

Good Friday & Easter

One of the most treasured texts in our Old Testament is Isaiah 53 where the prophet reveals the meaning of the death of “the servant,” who is the King and Messiah: “He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities.” But there is more detail here. In fact, this chapter speaks of the Christ’s life, death, burial, and resurrection. For that reason it makes a fitting chapter for Easter weekend. Invite your friends and join us for our services on Good Friday (7:30 p.m.) and Easter Sunday (9:30 a.m.) as we study this important chapter and continue in our series, The Gospel According to Isaiah.

Good Friday

  • We will gather at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 in the Fellowship Hall. Childcare is provided for nursery and preschool age children. We will sing, read Scripture, and hear a message from Isaiah, followed by communion.

Easter Sunday

  • We will gather at 9:30 a.m. on March 31 in the Auditorium. Again, we will sing praises to our risen King and Pastor Trent will preach.

Two reminders for Heritage members:

  • Pick up a stack of invitation cards beginning March 10. We plan to print an abundance of wallet-sized invitations cards. Use these to invite your neighbors and others around town.
  • Help ensure a seat for our guests. Come early and consider taking a seat up front in the auditorium to help us take advantage of our available seating on Easter morning.
2024 Missions Conference

2024 Missions Conference

March 5–7, 2024

Modern Missions
in the Reformed World

2024 Spring Theology Conference

God calls his whole church to be engaged in his mission to cover the whole earth with his glory. The unsearchable riches of Christ and the eternal plan of God are being made known to the world through the church. So whether praying, sending, or being sent, every person in our congregation has a role to play in fulfilling the Great Commission.

On March 5-7, Heritage is hosting Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s conference Modern Missions in the Reformed World. This conference will help all of us think more biblically and strategically as we seek to establish churches among those who have limited or no access to the gospel.

Use the code Heritage when you register to reduce the cost from $130 down to $50. This cost includes meals and a few new books.

Men’s Retreat

Men’s Retreat

We live in an age of anxiety, agitation, and angst. Homes, churches, and communities are wracked by turmoil and confusion. The need of the hour is for steady and sober-minded men of God who are rooted in Christ and therefore able to anchor their families, churches, and communities with gravity and gladness for the glory of God. At our Men’s Retreat weekend, Dr. Joe Rigney will set forth a vision of biblical manhood that is up to the challenges of our day. From personal holiness to productive households, we’ll explore what it means to Act Like Men.

Register today for our biannual Men’s Retreat on Friday and Saturday, April 12-13 at Look Up Lodge in Travelers Rest. This overnight retreat begins on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. with dinner together and will conclude Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Lodging and meals are included in the cost. Men of all ages, including middle school boys and older, are encouraged to attend.

Join your brothers for this time in God’s Word as we build deeper relationships with one another, encourage one another’s obedience to Christ, and rejoice in the good news of the Gospel together.

Men’s Book Study

Men’s Book Study

Brothers, join other men in our upcoming Men’s Book Study. For six weeks starting Thursday, February 1, we will meet together at either 6:15 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. We will be reading and discussing the doctrine of sanctification using the book Deeper by Dane Ortlund. This book will help us see that we grow as Christians by going deeper into what we already know. True change comes from aligning what we do, say, and feel into alignment with who we already are in Christ. Please come and fellowship with other men as we consider this important topic.

Sign up and get your book and study guide ($10) in the South Lobby or sign up online. If you sign up online, be sure to stop by the table to get your book. The study continues through Thursday, March 7, and will meet in The Cave.
